As a young girl, I sat with my Mom at a special table as she taught me to sew. Those were cherished memories. I carry those memories and the things she taught me into Cimply Sewn, my first attempt at a small home based business, as a way of paying tribute to her and my love for her.

My Mom was a very intense person and lived life one crisis to another. Everything upset her, made her raging mad or put her into deep depressions. As a way of coping, I think she took up sewing very early in her life. As I grew up, the most memorable and "calm" times I spent with her was while she taught me to sew. I think that is how she coped with things and events she could not handle. 

We often sat at a special table and crafted, sewed and often had amazing conversations that were calm and very loving. Not once do I remember her being 'upset' while we crafted/sewed. 

I continue to craft, but now focus on both broken glass and stained glass art.  I believe that anyone who is broken - can still be beautiful and God's light shines through each of us differently. My glass art reflects this and each person will, albeit differently, eventually and ultimately ~~See The Brilliance.
